February 08, I bought a 04 Dodge pickup from Mikes Famous in Egg Harbor City, NJ. Being a used truck I expected some minor, problems, and bought the extended warranty to protect against major ones.
Last week on the way to Pennsylvania the transmission started to act up. When I got to my destination it was late, Bishops garage opened up to help me out, Len, John, and friends went to work figuring out what the problem was. They said the computer was showing a code indicating a transmission module was shut off. They checked everything, and determined that it was the module, but couldn't get one. The local Chrysler dealer said they couldn't look at it for two weeks. Which is typical of dealers, and warranty work on vehicles they didn't sell.
I made it back to NJ, and made an appointment for the next day with MIKES FAMOUS CHRYSLER IN EGG HARBOR. I called them, because they didn't call me, they told me it needed SPARK PLUG WIRES! How do SPARK PLUG WIRES effect the transmission, I don't know, but Dale at Mikes said that was what the problem was. I figure it needed plug wires because they are non-warranty items. In fact the wires cost $156.00, just for the wires, then you have to pay $67.20 for the ends on the wires, then some kind of emission part that was $19.21, not sure what that part is. Then they walloped me $207.59 for LABOR. Total $489.28, and the problem is still there.
